91F, ACs running, and keeping the top wet

It’s 91 degrees Fahrenheit (32.7 degrees Celsius), with 45% humidity, for a heat index of 97 degrees Fahrenheit. There is no wind. At all.

It’s hot.

We have everything closed up, all the screens closed, all the air conditioners running (Vingilótë has 10kBTU air conditioning in each of the three cabins and 16kBTU in the saloon), but this builds up.

But since we’re in the marina (no sailing with Strut still recovering from his spinal surgery (that’s way too much unpredictable movement and too much movement) I go out every once in a while, hook up to shoreside water and hose down the whole top of the boat, both cooling it down, and leaving water standing for evaporative cooling.

This morning at 7:30 it took 1½ hours to dry out. Right now, at 2:30pm it takes 15 to 20 minutes …

Yeah, it’s hot. Outside. Here it is comfortable.
